Cleveland Indians exercise option on Carlos Carrasco, sign him to 2-year extension


The Cleveland Indians exercised their possibility on Carlos Carrasco for 2020 and signed the right-hander to a two-year extension Thursday that takes him via the 2022 season.

The 2020 possibility is valued at $10.25 million, in accordance with The Athletic. Phrases of the extension weren’t disclosed.

The Indians had already exercised their $9.75 million possibility for Carrasco for the 2019 season on Oct. 30.

The extension comes amid hypothesis the Indians may commerce beginning pitchers Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer as they retool this offseason.

Carrasco, 31, completed 17-10 with a three.38 ERA in 192 innings pitched final season. He tied for the key league lead with two full video games.

In 2017, he tied for the key league lead with 18 victories and completed fourth in American League Cy Younger Award voting.

He has performed his complete profession with the Indians and has a 79-62 file and three.71 ERA in 9 main league seasons.
